One of Americas most acclaimed surgeons, Gregory LaTrenta enjoys an international reputation for excellence in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Beloved for his care and humanity as well as his talent, he is treasured by patients and colleagues who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but also to the compassion he communicates. 

Dr Latrenta is known by his peers as an author of two of the best selling textbooks in his field, "THE ATLAS OF AESTHETIC FACE AND NECK SURGERY" and "AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGERY", 2nd Ed.*

Dr. LaTrenta has been caring for patients in his private practice in New York City for twenty five years. In addition to treating patients at his Park Avenue surgical facility, Carnegie Hill Plastic Surgery, the doctor serves at some of nation’s premiere medical institutions. 

He is Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Joan and Sanford Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Associate Attending Surgeon at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, which US News and World Report ranks as the number one hospital in New York, and 6th best hospital in the nation.  He also has surgical privileges with Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital and The Center for Specialty Care.

The doctor obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1980 after having graduated from Williams College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  From here he went on to serve his residencies and chief residencies in both general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at New York University Medical Center. He began work at the New York Hospital Cornell University Medical Center in 1988. 

Dr Latrenta has been named one of the “Best Doctors in America” by the Castle/Connolly Guide and one of the “Best Plastic Surgeons in New York” by the New York Magazine.



In 2010, Dr. LaTrenta was honored to be asked to join the Medical Circle of Weill Cornell Medical Center.  Among some of his other achievements are the award of the Traveling Professorship for the Aesthetic Society from 2001 through 2003, and receipt of the “Man of Good Conscience Award” from the American Society of Women Psychiatrists in May of 2002.


Dr. LaTrenta is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in both New York and Connecticut.

Dr. Latrenta’s professional affiliations include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is also proud to serve on the medical advisory board of the Breast Cancer Alliance.

He attends and presents at the Annual Meeting of each of these esteemed professional organizations, as well as at other conferences around the country.
